I have the 2005 version of that book and I didn't find it very helpful for more complex SSRS reports and admin. It spends a lot of time on loading a data mart in SSIS, then it goes on to teach you how to develop a cube and dimensions and then there are handful of chapters on SSRS. If you need something that covers all those aspects broadly, then it's an okay choice. There is an SSRS focused book in that series by the same author: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Server-2008-Reporting-Services/dp/0071548084/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275677819&sr=1-1
If you are looking for advanced reporting techniques try: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Server-Reporting-Services-Recipes/dp/0470563117/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275677374&sr=1-1
There is also Bill Pearson's free series (71 parts!) on reporting online at http://www.databasejournal.com. Although it starts in SQL 2000, it goes through SQL 2008. I've found it very helpful for answering real-life situations: parameter picklists from cubes, parameterized grouping, percents of totals, etc.

I used "Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services" by Brian Larson.
It helped me a lot and has nice tutorials.
