  Where can I find the complete reference for the Error, Severity, and State Codes? I came across this blogpost, http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sql_protocols/archive/2006/02/21/536201.aspx, but it was incomplete.

  Does anyone know what this login failed error means:

  Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 38.

  I think that the error means that Password is incorrect, may be you need verify the password or verify the security into SQL Server.
