  I'm attempting to setup TDE encryption for the first time on a test server, following Microsoft article:

  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc278098.aspx#_Toc189384680

  In step 3 of the "How to Enable TDE" section, it talks about backing up the cert and the private key. However when I run this query it never completes (I left it overnight).

  Does someone have a good how-to on enabling and using TDE?

  LOL, nevermind this post, I figured it out. It was a typo!
