Hi folks
I have SS 2008 Express (Advanced) installed on Vista SP2
Seeking full functionality (especially SSAS), I acquired SS 2008 Developer Edition.
Can I simply install SS 2008 DE "on top" of what I have, or do I first have to uninstall everything?
Furthermore, I'm aware that after installation of SS 2008 DE you need to properly configure it to enable all functionality. Is there an article or post that explains this?
I'm not a DBA/Administrator, just an enthusiast, so any other SS 2008 set up or configuration advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Wayne

You could just install the developer edition as a named instance and make sure UAC is disabled before you install so you can install all features including SSRS which is not IIS dependent but some users still report issues.
Kind regards,

Thanks Gift
I understand what a named instance is, but I'm not familiar with UAC and where/how to ensure that it's disabled.

Here is a link that explains UAC and a step by step guide.
