I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Express edition. I have already set Maximum Server memory to 2Gb.
Is there any benefit if I Change it from 2Gb to 3Gb?

That rather depends on the amount of memory your machine has and what else is running.

Incidentally SQL 2008 R2 is out of extended support so you may want to upgrade to a more recent version to get security patches.

no benefit - Express will use a maximum of 1 GB for database engine

Get the Developer Edition, that would allow you to use more RAM and give you many other added capabilities as well.

Just be careful what you use the Developers Edition for. If the databases on your SQL Express system are production databases in any way, shape, or form, it's a flagrant license violation to use the Developers Edition for such a thing.

The Developers Edition is excellent and a useful tool... for development and testing. It can't be used in any kind of production capacity.
