SSIS suddenly takes longer time to run

  • I am relatively new to SSIS. I have an ssis package which used to run in less than 9 minutes. But suddenly it takes 4 hrs to run . I have not changed anything in the package. I do not understand why? Can someone tell me what are the things i should look for.

    Thanks in advance

  • Can you provide some more info like have you moved from a dev server to a production server. And what is the SSIS package doing exactly. It could be there's nothing wrong with the package but with your underlying DB design i.e. missing index on a table.

Hey did any one find the solution to this problem?
I have also similar problem, earlier my package used to take 1.5 hour to transfer data but now suddenly it takes 9/10 hours. And interesting thing is that time is increasing day by day. I didn't change any packages or location, I once ran same package in debug mode (earlier also I used to do that, but earlier nothing was happened).

What could cause this error and which approach should I take to test/debug this issue?

This is a very old, and vague, topic. We're need a lot more specifics here, just like andrew.roberts asked of the OP 9 years ago. 🙂
