Hi All,
I get the link server error to oracle db. Everytime we faced this problem, the only solution is restart the sql server services or restart the server. I have turn on dbcc tracestatus(7300) but nothing useful information come up. Before we facing this problem, the select statement that I execute will become slower and slower. At last this error will come up.
OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error. (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (80040e14): OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDAORA' IDBInitialize::Initialize returned 0x80004005: ].) (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (80040e14): [OLE/DB provider returned message: Oracle error occurred, but error message could not be retrieved from Oracle.])

It is better to use the Oracle OLE DB driver for your version of Oracle so go to Oracle website and download their OLE DB driver.
Kind regards,
