I am trying to give permissions for a group on sql server database everytime i right click on the login and check permissions for the databases and click OK and if recheck again the permissions are not there. Also i tried from query window but still i cant see the permissions. But when i check in a particulr database i see the user group in there but that groups can not access the database. what is this happening with sql server.

What permissions are you trying to grant?

I am just trying to give db_reader and db_writer to a group which i have been doing sincea while but not its acting weired, i have no clue why sql server does it.
Finally i gave permissions to the particular user login who needs to work on at right now but still i want to know that issue.
