I've seen multiple SP3 versions of SQL express 2005 editions but all seem to be complete reïnstalls.
Isn't there a wau just to install SP3 on top of an existing installation or is reinstalling the only way?
Thanks for the advise.

Here is the SQL Server 2005 Express SP3 separate download and remember to provide your instance name because I had a user with issues relating to not providing the instance name. If you have only one then it is default instance.

Thanks for the answer but what if SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services is installed?
Do you have to use this one?

255MB?
or can I just install the one from the link you provided?

You need to use the one I provided the 32bits file because the bigger file is for SQL Server Express 2005 installed in a 64bits box.
