Your MSDN license give you access to the Developer Edition of SQL Server. To install this, you either need to use the media MSDN sent you (assuming you opted to receive the media) or download the installation from the MSDN website.
If you are going to use the SQL Server in a production environment, you will need to purchase the appropriate license - which will usually include the media for installation.

MSDN (some versions at least) give all the editions of SQL server, but they're still just personal licences.

Right Gail - you can download any of the editions and install them with some of the MSDN licenses. I never really did think about the licensing this way, but your description of them being personal licenses is good.

Yup. If you opt for the download version (which costs more I believe), then you'll be sent DVD packs every couple months.
