Detecting R sessions running against a server

  Hi,

  I support a SQL Server tha has a number of users who use R.

  We put out the best practice of exporting a data source to csv which then serves as the source for R.

  This works fine but as ever there's always one who insists on running R scripts directly against our production databases which slows down response and effectively locks everyone else out.

  Is there a way of detecting whether an R script is running against the server or indeed on the windows server in general?

  Any help most welcome.
