  the file group back up of some of the files{mdf,ldf} in master ,model are skipping .can i take the file group back up excluding that files.i have full backup of that dbs .pls guide me the correct way.

  As far as i know, you have to take full backup of Master database and cannot do filegroup backup for it.

  If you have full backup of master database then you are in good shape.

  You dont need to take backup of Model database as its just a template, unless ofcourse you have some customized code sitting in there.
