Sorry guys if I am repeating someone else, but I am sick and tired of this stupid bug!!!
Imagine the situation: I developed an SSIS package which has about 100 dataflow tasks chained etc.
Then I go running the package in BIDS. It runs cool and smooth when looking at it through the Control Flow tab.
I have one table which is like 10million rows and it takes around 30-45 minutes to flow. Of course I want to see the progress of the dataflow. I click on the Data Flow tab and select the task which is currently working.
Here the problem comes -- BIDS freezes here for the rest of the duration of this task. Status bar says Validating OLE DB Destination, the popup ballon says that BIDS is very busy, please wait.
I try to click a couple of times with no luck -- bllody BIDS is unresponsive.
Here goes another problem -- the dataflow task aborts with no error, with the dataflow unfinished and the package keeps on going. The previous dataflow and container(s) in which it sits stay yellow, nevertheless as I said the package is going on.
As a result in the end of the execution I endup with the package all green, except for the containers and the task which failed and the data not loaded fully.
And of course, I have not been able to see the progress of the dataflow, which is what I want and frozen BIDS was not allowing me to do anything for some half an hour.
Pretty ugly,
anyone has the same trouble? (btw I pump from AS400 into MSSQL2005)
Any thoughts appreciated

I don't believe everyone here enjoys smooth BIDS performance when debugging their big SSIS packages.
It just kills me and I don't know what to do...
Please help
