Under 'My Publishers', the various publishing servers are displayed. But they don't display the various publications or show up in the right pane for a good 20 minutes or so after launching the monitor.
This is true even when I'm on the same machine as the Distributor or any Publisher.
"Subscription Watch List" and "Common Jobs" look OK.
Is this another feature of MisMgmt Studio, or is there a fix somewhere?

Are you proposing a rename from SSMS to MMSM?
More seriously - are there capacity issues? Are you doing everything on a single box? I am currently operating with an underpowered 'server' which desperately needs more memory and I know that until the memory issue is resolved, performance will not improve. Are you in a similar boat?

Not really. The server has 8Gb memory and not an inordinate amount of activity.

I manage a TON of publications. I totally agree that Replication Monitor is one of the worst pieces of software ( for lack of better words 😉 ) that I have ever come accross.
They do take sometime to showup but definitely not 20 min. When a server is Overloaded I could even see ReplMonitor show the Publisher as "disconected" .
You should check for setup issues that could be affecting your experience.
