Giving header to Static Row Group

  • I have a matrix which has about 6-7 static colums and then dynamic colums. I'm getting header for dynamic column but how would i show header for static colums?

my report is something like this

    Subcategory1

Ship To num Name Division Branch Subsubcat1 Sub sub cat2

Ship To Num,Name,Division & Branch are static but Subcategory will be growing. I tried to insert Row header for static colums but i cant give the heading for those. Can somebody please help me?

    I'm using RS 2000

    Any help would be appriciated.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

I created the same with following steps

    Please try it

Step1. Merge all the static column header cells of matix

Step2. Place a table in the merged cell

Step3. In table, create as many column as the Matrix static columns

Step4. Match the Table column with to the Matrix column with .

Step5. Write header text to respective table column

Let me know if you need more info.

  • Hi

Thanks for the reply, I did try out your method and it works great, but when i try to export to Excel(it is one of the huge report which need to be exported to excel), i cant export because i think it is the limitation of RS that you cant have table within matrix or something like that. So instead of table i added a rectangle and tried to format, but it is so messy when i export to excel. I'm still working to see if i can do something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • Hey

Okay. You are going in a right way if you need it to export to excel. I did it in some of my reports. Its really a very time consuming but you need to be precise in the textbox (in rectangle) length and width. Set textbox length using the property window don't drag it. I did it in this way and its woking great with around 170+ columns in my couple of reports. Also its looks good when i export it to excel.

This is the only way i found, if you find any other easy way please share.

    Thank you
