If you can't see the role applicationadmin in the database or server roles (which ever it is in), and you have high enough priviledges, then it means it doesn't exist. Simple as that.
applicationadmin isn't a role shipped with SQL Server, so there's very little the volunteers can do to help you recreate it, as it'll be unique to your environment.
