Experts,
My friend went to an interview(SQL Developer) recently. Around 100 peoples were attended the interview.
Eventhough he did very well, they rejected him. He told that he don't know the reason.
What might be the reason ? Can any expert who has done more SQL interview share their idea ?

Not knowing your friend, the company, or the interview, it'd be impossible to say why. Usually, it's because the people doing the interview thought that someone else was more qualified or a better fit to the team.
I have a question, where are there 100 people looking for SQL development work? I get two or three at a time, max.

Hey Sandy,
We are actually, for the moment, not looking, but only because we took on a consultant after spending a year trying to find a senior level dba. It's in the Rhode Island area in the US.

If you want to know, politely ask the company. Usually someone will tell you that they found another candidate that had more experience, but sometimes they might give you a valid reason why you weren't chosen.
I can't imagine 100 people being in the same place for an interview at the same time. I think we've interviewed maybe 10 a day before. And that was a lot. Usually about about 4 I'm done.
People are often chosen as much for how they get along with the interviewer as their technical skills.

Experience and knowledge matters but what counts the most is ur attitude. That is y even though some ppl r more experienced than the others they dont get thru cuz they dont posses a good attitude....

hey Jerome,
Technical Skill is must for any job, remember it.
and as far as attitude concern..
I believe.....
“I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”
2nd :
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
I think this is enough for you to understand Attitude....;):w00t::cool::hehe:
Cheers!:)

U did hit the nail on the head.....that is excatly what I was trying to say. Even though one is well behaved and has a great attitude due to certain external factors he is provoked in behaving differently at times. Sadly, that is also considered while recruiting a person.

I just shared what I feel...
and One thing, Let this topic leave to the recruiting people.
why are we break our head for this....!!!

I am a non-technical person that conducts interviews for a web tech company. I know one of the biggest things that we look for is the person and whether or not they will fit in with the team. If a person is technically awesome but would clash with the rest of the team, it simply won't work out. If that is the case, your friend will probably find a place that will make him much happier.

I used to work in one Fin company and it was a tendency among certain groups ( managers) to hire people of the same origins, so it would be easier for him\her to deal with new employees, since we all worked in the stressed env, working long hours...

The most thing that can be happen negatively for you and positively for the persons who interviewed you is that you have sometimes the overqualified skills and sure that they will not decide for you...it was one of the worst experience for me during the application for new job!!!
