I am upgrading the database but the current server has replication and db mirroring configured. So I was planning to resume the mirroring on the old server and my understanding is that would also stop replication. Once the upgrade is successfully on the new server than I can remove the mirroring and replication on the old server. The reason I am doing this just in case we have to fall back. Do you agree with me?

try it on your test environment and you will know if your assumptions are correct.

FYI..I just tested it in the test environment. So pausing the db mirroring is also pause the replication sync since both based on transaction log. So the assumption is correct. Do you agree pausing the db mirroring is the best option for the upgrade instead of removing the db mirroring and replication until there is no fall back? The upgrade is done side by side and it is not in place.
