Hi
I have a named instance of sql2005 running on a windows 2000 server. The default instance is sql2000. I can find the license type for the sql2000 installation by going to control panel and clicking the sql 2000 licensing setup utility. I cannot find anything relating to sql2005 in the control panel. I have tried running the script 'select serverproperty('licensetype')' but it just returns 'disabled'.
Is there any way of quickly finding out the license type, I have no idea how this instance was installed :unsure:

as far as I know this is correct - certainly this is what BOL says.

Per BOL: LicenseType
Mode of this instance of SQL Server.
PER_SEAT = Per Seat mode
PER_PROCESSOR = Per-processor mode
DISABLED = Licensing is disabled.
So I guess your License is Disabled.
