Dear Forum,
I wanted to do a repair / re-install of SSRS, because I'm having trouble with the web deploy part of SSRS.
I tried SSRS download from:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=55252
Upon running C:\Users\alberto\Downloads\SQLServerReportingServices.exe I get this message and no option or instructions on how to choose a different edition or progress with SSRS repair / install ..
User: Error: Evaluation period has expired. Please upgrade to different edition before attempting to upgrade again.
Any suggestions on addressing this message ? ... I will consider ..
I spotted this discussion on subject of " Is SSRS Free or not Free ? .."

Can I please pose same question here also ? Is SSRS Free or not Free ?
cheers, thanks in advance, Allan

What edition of SQL Server is this? The error messages indicates it was an evaluation version. SSRS still uses databases and the database engine and it could be that is the piece that is the evaluation edition.

Hi Sue, Yep - I had installed SQL*Server 2012 and SQL*Server 2017 .. I had tried to uninstall SQL*Server 2012 which I thought I had done successfully.
I will work at it some more ..
Yes the SQL*Server 2012 had a trial period from memory .. but the SQL*Server 2017 does not have trial period limit.
thanks for getting me thinking along different lines .. 🙂 ..
I have 2 users on notebook ..

I managed to use control panel to uninstall SSRS ..
I can now install again I believe, I will choose Developer option here ..

You should be good to go now - reporting services is up and running. And it's the new version which is what you wanted.
