Hi,
I wondered if anybody has any experience with transforming a tabular model at deployment or could point me in the right direction with the following?
I have found myself responsible for maintaining multiple tabular models and while I am happy with DAX, am unsure of the underlying technologies and knowledge required to make this work.
The hypothetical scenario is :-
I have two customers, each with their own tabular model, based on the same dimensional model structure. The only difference being that Customer A has attributes on certain dimensions that are not relevant. The measures are all calculated in the same way.
Rather than maintaining two separate models, is it possible to maintain one master model, but hide columns at deployment time? (perhaps based on a separate script, which would be less overhead to maintain than two separate models). Digging a bit further it looks like the model is an XML file but im not really sure if there is a best practice or documented method already in existence.
Thanks
