MDS - Entity Sync - Error MDSERR300004

  • Hi,

In Master Data Services in Model X I would like to validate an entity ('consumer entity') by checking whether a specific attribute value exists in another entity ('validation entity'). This checking is done by adding a domain-based attribute to the 'consumer entity' from the 'validation entity'. With every new input in the 'consumer entity' business rules then checks if the input value can be found in the domain-based attribute.

The challenge that we have now is that the source of the 'validation entity' regularly changes. So a new MDS model , Y, is created to load different 'validation entities' from an SQL database. With entity sync other models, like Model X, can copy the data. However, we face issues when entity sync updates data from Model Y to Model X, because:

The member with code "{0}" cannot be deleted. It is currently used by entity "{1}", member code "{2}"

Is it possible to use entity sync or something similar to copy entities from Model Y to Model X when attributes in an entity of Model X are used by other entities as domain-based attributes?
