I know how to migrate from SQL server 2000 to SQL server 2005(32bit),
Our requirment is to migrate from 32 SQL 2K to 64 bit sql2k5,Any sugestion/assistance on this is highly appreciated.
Like can we migrate system databases (like from 32bit 2000 to 2005) and DO we only need just user database Restore/attach in 64 bit from backup/files.
Thanks in Advance

Reddy,
the issues whtith DTS and EM you're refering two are related to the Itanium 64-bit version. WIth the x64 version you don't have these problems.
A direct upgrade from a 32-bit version to 64 bit is not possible and migrating system databases from 2000 to 2005 is also not possible since the schema of the system databaseas has been changed quite a lot.
You need to install new server/instance with the 64-bit version and then transfer logins, jobs etc.
MS has a rather long document dealing with all the possible upgrade paths. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3d5e96d9-0074-46c4-bd4f-c3eb2abf4b66&displaylang=en
Your user databases you can simply attach or restore without any changes since the datafiles for 32 and 64 bit versions are the same.
Hope this helps
