Does sql server have equivalents for r language ie the r summary function?

I'm not an R enthusiast but if you could tell me what it does, I might be able to help.

Also, doesn't SQL Server now allow diversions to R in some fashion?

You can run R code from within SQL Server (Python too, now).

we run R from within management studio (R studio and sql do not play nicely) - but it works
