Share DB Resources

  • I have prod sql server which is hosting vendor application database, however, our company is a sister company and i manage the SQL Server at sister company. The parent company want to host the database on our prod sql server to mitigate the cost of another sql server license. Due to the nature and architecture of application use of sql server, there will be no interruptions to our prod server. Neither theirs deployment process will have any effect on the databases or instances. After the initial installation the databases rarely if ever need to be touched that's what it's been said. However, i am little hesitant to mange this DB server and prefer not to allow their databases, but i am looking for strong valid reasons why i can't host their db's? Any thoughts or advise? Thanks in advance!

no real good reason then to refuse to host it on that server.

and if you wish to be "safer" you can always enable resource governor to limit the resources that the accounts that use that database use.
