What happens to Primary replica if secondary replica server did not come online after patching

    Hi Guys,

    I got a question about AG group.

    I have a AG group setup A-P with automatic failover (Async). What will happen to AG if the secondary server did not back online after patching? What is the impact to the primary database?

    As per my understanding, Primary DB will be accessible.
    As it's ASYNCH, performance should also not hit.
    LS Queue will get piled up. Log file will keep growing.
    Once the replica is up, might sync.
    There will be plenty of errors and warnings in dashboard.

    I made a mistake. I meant to ask if it is Sync not Async.
