  i have configured the veritas backup exe 10d to backup a sql 2000 db and check for consistency at time of backup. but the consistency check fails.

  when i run dbcc checkdb, the result is ok. also if i take backup from sql, its fine.

  i personally don't trust Veritas to do anything except backup the db

  I recommend to leave any dbcc operation to SQL server.  Use the veritas for it's made.
