Hi Newbie,
Attempted to set up log shipping by right clicking database selecting Transaction Log Shipping and then completing the options.
I am sure that the options are correct but I get an error[5] indicating no permission to read the .bak file.
The folder and the file have have read permissions for everyone.
If I restore the database then it reads the .bak with no permission problems.
Obviously I am missing something crutial. Any ideas?

Is backup location is local?
Under what account sql agent service is running?
I think You should be sysadmin on both servers to configure log shipping...
You have to have read/write permission to the folder...

have you tried this? It has some pre-req info and steps.

The problem was mine. Didnt read the requirements fully enough.
Problem lay with sql server agent permissions.
