AlwaysOn Failover with ‌named instances installed

  • Hi all,
    Server Names : SQL01 and SQL02, SQL01\int01 and SQL02\int02

SQL02 and SQL02\int02 was primary, at the same time SQL services for SQL01\int01 was stopped and failover occurred,
hence SQL01 becomes primary and SQL02 is Secondary, but for named instance SQL02\int02 is still primary and while bringing SQL services UP - SQL01\int01 is now secondary.

If I failover SQL02\int02 instance, do my default instance also roles get changes?, does WSFC works individually for SQL Serves?

    Thanks in advance...!

This doesn't make sense to me. If you stopped the service for the named instance, how did it become the primary?

Doesn't make sense agreed. If it was on 01 and then failed over to 02. I would check if you have it to automatically failover within SQL
