  We have MDAC 2.8 SP2 installed a SQL2000 server with iSeries client access.  We are getting access denied when we attempt to access iSeries linked servers.  I have recreated the same linked server on another SQL2000 running MDAC 2.8 SP1 (2.81.1124) and the linked server works fine.  The iSeries is v5.2.  As a workaround, I have create a system DSN to the iSeries and used it in the linked server and this works fine.  Any ideas?

  We have run into the very same problem. But the DSN solution is not working for us.
