SSAS - An error occurred whilst processing the partition 'x' of sales measure group 'y'

  • I am unable to process my cube because the partitions are not processing. I don't know why this has happened as I haven't made changes to this cube in particular, although I made changes to another virtual cube.

Please advise how I can get my cube to process again as it is having serious implications.

You might want to try searching Google, as I came across at least one existing post right here in the forums for SQL Server Central, located here:

  • Hi Steve,

Pretty much have comprehensively searched the web for this issue as well as having already read the link you suggested. I'm creating a new thread just to revive the conversation.

I was informed this could be a bug in SSAS as we are using SQL Server 2008 R2 with service pack 2. We were advised to install the latest service pack, service pack 3 then to retry processing the partitions. Currently in the process of doing this but I have my doubts.

Okay...   might want to seriously consider getting away from 2008R2.   It's ancient history at this point, and is long out of support...
