SRS: Included with SQL 2000 Enterprise?

  • Hi,

My company is preparing to invest in ConfigureSoft's ECM product.  We're planning to purchase SQL 2000 Enterprise (app is not written to SQL 2005 yet) and evidently the app requires SQL Reporting Services as well.

Can anyone tell me whether SRS is included with SQL 2000 Enterprise?

If not, can anyone tell me how the licensing works?  If we paid per-proc for SQL 2000 Enterprise, do we pay per-proc for SRS, or what?

    Thanks,

    -Mike

  • RS is basically 'free' and licensed as per your SQL license *except* when you install it on a server other than your SQL server. So for a big site, you'll end up paying again as you do with AS.

The link below is a Msft UK link but it gives you the general overview. To get alternates to this, do a google using +sql +2000 +licensing site:.microsoft.com

    HTH,

    Steve.

  • Thanks you, sir.  Will procure the sofware from Microsoft.

  • Hi Sir,

we did purchase SQL 2000 Enterprise and we did installed Reporting Services demo version and it works fine my problem now is my RS demo is expired how to get RS full version can I download or any body how to get it?

    Thanks in advance

  • If you have an MSDN subscription you should be able to download it directly from MSDN. If not, I think you need to speak with your local Msft sales team. I think they send it out on CD but can't guarantee that.

When you do get it, come back and do a search n the forums for upgrading your install - others have posted questions regarding how to do this and I'm pretty certain Phil (sorry Phil forgot your last name :S) had a viable solution for doing this.

    Steve.
