Reporting Server

    I have reporting server which gets replicated from other OLTP server.However, the reporting server has low PLE and hig disk queue which make sense having low PLE could lead to high disk queue length and this trigger alerts. However, adding more memory on reporting server would help but it's reporting server so it would take more memory any way. But setting the alerts to different threshold is good option or try adding more memory? Only ETL process runs against this reporting server other then data is populated through replication. Not many direct reports runs against. Please advise?

    What are your target server memory and current memory settings?

    16 is the total memory and 12 is assigned to sql.

    The performance counter. Not total memory, the target memory the reporting instance is wanting

    Do a search on this: target server memory total server memory sql server

    Then you'll know what it means and understand why Steve asked that. Also you can query the performance counters using a DMV in SQL Server. And hopefully no one posts all of that for you - you'll remember it better when you go find it out yourself. 🙂
