  I try to delete a publisher and get the following error:

  Error 21776: [SQL-DMO] The name XXX was not found in the TransPublication collection. 

  I recreated the publisher and then purged it by going to Tools --> Replication --> Configure Publishing, Subscribers and Distribution and I get was able to get rid of the publisher.  But it seemed to have reappeared after a week.  Any inputs on correcting this will be appreciated.

  Try running sp_removedbreplication 'dbname' on the publisher.

  That should remove all replication objects from the publication database.
