Vacation!!

I'm off for a week to sunny Virginia Beach. At least I hope it's sunny there. After the hurricane stuff last weekend, I'm hoping it's all moved beyond the southeastern Virginia area.
It's not often that I get a break and the family is looking forward to it. Being the main person behind SQLServerCentral.com, a global community that operates every weekday (and some weekends) regardless of holidays, I find myself explaining to my wife sometimes that I need to work for a couple hours on a holiday to get the newsletter out and admin the site. Or that I need to work extra ahead of time to allow for that.
I know, it's not the toughest job in the world, but it does never stop and it's a strange detailed job that has daily timelines (the site), bimonthly deadlines (the magazine) and long term projects (books) that I have to juggle constantly.
So this is a well deserved vacation, back to my hometown, a chance for Grandma to see the kids and my wife and I to lay on the beach and relax. I've had some great offers from LDise and others for a beer when I'm there, but I think this trip will be a lazy, unwind, and not schedule much of anything, trip.
If I don't answer any posts or editorials, it's because Andy's got things under control and he's sending out some pre-written editorials, furiously penned this past week as I'm preparing to leave.
Or because I can't sneak any internet time away from my wife 🙂

Welcome to the east coast....not to rain on your parade but they (the very reliable weathermen) DO say that there'll be scattered t-storms throughout the week...we'll try to keep them at bay while you're on vacation....
Hope you're bringing with you all the t-shirts that you owe folks in this neck of the woods!
