Is this a Reporting Services Question or a Analysis Server Question??

  • hi... i am a newbie in SQL server 2000 analysis services and MS Reorting Services of .Net... the problem i am encountering is that i have a cube with two dimension tables and obviously a fact table... I have TIME DIMENSION and a LOAN STATUS Dimension which has keys for various types of loan status, like when LoanID is 1 the LoanTypeDescription Value is set to "Prepaid or Current",when its 2 ,its "01-15 Days Delinquincy"...

now,the problme i am facing is that when i query that data from MS reporting services and display it in a matrix/chart, its sorts data alphabetically...like, "01-15 days Delinquincy" comes BEFORE Prepaid or current and similarly, ordering of other types is disturbed  too...I want it to appear in the order I want it to!

I tried setting the advanced options for the LoanStatusDimension by going to Ordering/Uniqueness of Members and sorting it by ID...ok? but now, i am getting the correct order of Dimension members i.e. the various loan status BUT the measures its displaying in front of it are in the same (wrong) order that was appearing earlier!!!

can anyone help!?! i have a deadline to meet!!

  • ok guyz...the problem has been solved!! forgot to update the data in the fact table... it was sorting data on the first character of the KEY i.e. 10 came BEFOFRE 2...
