I am using sql server 2005 Beta 2 Reporting services. Now,I have a problem.

After installation of sql server 2005 beta 2,

I tried typing http://localhost/ReportServer to check if the reportserver is working correctly, but

I am getting this error message:

The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) Get Online Help

Shared Memory Provider: The specified module could not be found.

I am not sure where is the error and what to do? Please help me out!!

    Thanks a zillion in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Sankar

  • Hi,

This problem might be due to the different order of installation of vs.net 2005 and sql server 2005 or some problem occured during installation. You can go to

start-programs-microsoft sql server 2005-reporting services configuration and connect to your instance; set up all those that you need.

while installing sql server or specifically reporting services, sometimes the installation wizard will not attach the database to our sql server instance, then we might have to attach the database that exists in our system and reporting services configuration can be used to do that safely.

    Thanks
