Hi all,
I purchased a dedicated win2003 server hosting account. I have been trying to remotely install SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition from my local XP Pro box. I am getting the incompatiable OS message since XP isnt a server OS. Is there another way to do a remote install from an XP box? If I upgrade to win 2003 on my local box would it let me do a remote install then? I can connect via RDC and tried to RDC back into my local box to access the CD Drive but I just disconnects me. I would really appreciate any help anybody can give me.
Thanks DMC

Sorry cant help, but did you know that the developer edition is just $49.95, its the same as Enterprise edition...but you need another edition to distribute the product to users Standard or MSDE

I had the same problem on XP box when I tried tried to install SQL Enterprise 2000 . I was allowed to install only client tools. When I got developer edition, I installed sql without problems
