Wanted: SQL Server 2000 Performance Expert in NYC area for consulting position

  • Wanted: SQL Server 2000 performance expert in the NYC area for a consulting position to perform a review of a Wall Street bond trading system. This system has been in production for a few years and is very database intensive. As the database has grown, performance has deteriorated. We are looking for someone to perform the following functions as a consultant:

    1) Analyze the database design

    2) Analyze the worst performing code (stored procs, UDFs, triggers, etc)

    3) Analyze the indexes used

    4) Suggest the "biggest-bang-for-the-buck" changes that will improve performance

The position would require the consultant to work onsite. After initial analysis, the consultant would be assigned someone to work closely with them and answer their questions.

We consider ourselves very SQL-savvy, but are to the point where we need a fresh opinion.

Only experts with performance-tuning experience need apply. If you are interested, please reply to this posting.

  • suggestion: given the high cost of such specialists' time you ought to have your documentation in order prior to their arrival... I just happen to know a rather talented fellow who could document your business rules, SQL/SPs, user-defined data types, data structures, et al.

    My resume in enclosed...
