Hi,
is it possible, to work with sql server and windows authentication without a domain join.
Our linux admins won't join the sql server to the domain. They told something abount ldap connection only.
In my opinion the domain join is necessary to use windows authentication.
Thanks,
Best regards,
Andreas

The first step in the documentation (Tutorial: Use Active Directory authentication with SQL Server on Linux) is "Join SQL Server host to AD domain". LDAP isn't even mentioned, so I doubt that it would work any other way. I haven't seen anything in the past that suggests so either (but that isn't to say there isn't).
