Hi there,
We are currently running SQL Server 7.0 and SQL 2k on Win2k, all of which are set to use mixed login authentication on SQL. We are working on a migration project to upgrade all servers to 2003 and to exchange 2003. We are going to be using an Active Directory structure. I dont know much about it at the moment, but I was wondering if anyone else has done this kind of move from SQL logins to AD logins? What is involved and will there be any issues that may stop us from doing it?
cheers
Meg

No issues, the authentication works fine. The big thing is your applications must support it.

Exactly. I'd suggest doing one thing at a time. Either move to NT authentication or upgrade to AD, dont do both at once.
That said - I see nothing wrong with sql logins used within apps, just shouldnt be issued to users.
