I have a script which I use to take the backup of our DBs to the cloud. I am just configuring LS for one of the DB but using a network drive for backups since backing up and shipping log to the secondary from the cloud is time consuming due to latency. Question: Can I still continue to take the backup to AWS through the script I have and still take tlog backup to the network drive or will it break anything?

Taking Adhoc full backups pointing to S3 Shouldn't break anything in log shipping setup.
Being said that, I would recommend testing this in your Dev region for you to be comfortable.

Full backups will not affect log shipping (neither will differential backups) as they do not break or otherwise interfere with the log chain

Just don't take any log backups. Those must only be done by the log shipping process. (you can and should copy those log backups elsewhere for safety, once they've been copied to the secondary)
