Dear all,
I just installed SQL Server 2016 and I thought this was the last version. Now I am seeing many posts speaking about SQL Server 2017.
Did Microsoft released a SQL Server 2017 immediately after the SQL Server 2016?
Thank you

Sorry, did not undertood your answer. There is really a SQL Server 2017 version now? If it is the case, its strange, why? normally microsoft releases versions from 3 to 3 years or something. I don't remember this being done ever before.
Any constraint with SQL Server 2016 release?

Johan's answer was based on you saying they released 2017 immediately after 2016,
2016 was release 1st June 16 and 2017 was released 2nd Oct 2017, so a good 16 months in between, so no not immediately after 2016.
MS are moving up their release schedules, there was a change in the way they do things, so 2017 brings Linux OS support, they are also planning on releasing major versions more frequently, through their newer patching cycles.
