Does anyone have experience in analysis and troubleshooting filestream?
We have a FS enabled database where suddenly (basically since the Xmas break) any queries involving FS are performing abysmally - as in about a minute and a half - and these are not huge files - or even big, tens of Mb mostly. This is also through SSMS as well as the app - QA will show 20-30 ms, say for server response, but over a minute for client processing.
8.3 is off as is indexing (not sure about last access at this point) - but as we're in a change freeze nothing should have changed anyway.
As you can probably tell from the above, I've been through Paul Randall's Filestream Performance paper, and can't really pull many troubleshooting tips from it. Not much that's enormously helpful from various googling attempts either.
Any tips, hints or suggestions, well, not hints - that would probably just drive me crackers, as to what to be looking at / for would be much appreciated. Random Log Crawling In The Hope Of Finding Something Useful hasn't helped me thus far.
Setup is a AG group - one local failover cluster, 2 node with AG node on secondary site, Ent 2014 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2 standard
I'm a DBA.
I'm not paid to solve problems. I'm paid to prevent them.

If you are in a code freeze then I can't imagine that FS in ist own right is the problem.
Are the files held locally on the server or on a network share? Is there possibly a hardware or network issue that could be causing problems?
