hi, i'm evaluating some full-text tool, i read that full-text need to be installed in sql server 2016, it is missing in default installation.
Maybe Microsoft is preparing to dismiss this functionality in the near future?
Thanks.

It's been an optional feature since SQL 2012, along with Replication. It's just about allowing the minimum necessary to be installed.
It's not so much missing from the default install (the default has nothing at all selected), it's just that you have to check the box for Full Text separately.
