Access Issue

    I have sqlagent reader role, operator role, user  role but when i try to create jobs it throws an error "cannot execute as the principal database" and this happens only if i connect sql server 2012 from sql server 2008 client but when i try to connect from sql 2012 client there is no error.. any idea on this.

    Not sure why you would ever want to connect to a later version of SQL Server from a lower version of SSMS.   As the later versions of SSMS can connect without issue to the previous versions, there's little point in using an older version.
