Hi,
We have report server for the named instance. When I tried to connect from SSMS, I am unable to connect. I run the SSMS as administrator but it didn't work. Also I try to connect using the service account which has sysadmin permissions but still didn't work. I tried to connect using two different versions of SSMS.
From the report server configuration manager, I can see production version is 12.0.4213.0, Report server mode: Native & Report Service status: Started
The error when I tried to connect from SSMS 2014

Hi, are you trying to connect to the Report Server instance from your workstation using SSMS, or, are you RDP'ed to the server itself (where the reporting services are running on)?

Hi,
how to you connect to sql reporting service?
Server name: server.domain.com
Have you ever tried this one:
Server name: http://localhost/reportserver
If this doesn't fit, please replace "localhost" with your reportserver.
Kind regards,
Andreas

Thank you.
I figured the issue.
We have two instances one is native & another is named.
It worked, when I used http://localhost/Reportserver_instancename.
I have another question, will there be any difference in SSRS roles for standard and enterprise edition.
We are using standard edition when I go to security tab from ie, there I can able to see only system administrator & system user role. I didn't see browser, content manager roles in secutiry table from internet explorer.

Sounds like you are connecting with IE or another browser and not SSMS as indicated earlier.

They are there. Create a folder and view the security. Item level security and site level security are two different things.
