Many large companies are not fond of PostgreSQL.
How well does it perform with numerous billion-row fact tables in a data warehouse?
I've only ever used it with small databases and the performance is not what i would call stellar...

Yes, I wouldn't doubt that SQL Server and Oracle would beat it, and you probably have more experience with it than me honestly. I do know also that from what I've read, parallelism of any sort didn't make an appearance until 9.6 so its probably going to lag behind in that category and others. So maybe it IS chopped liver!
