Apologies if this question has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find a thread with this exact question.
In the following setup :
SQL 2008, Mirroring - High Safety with automatic failover
The witness becomes unavailable (i.e. neither the primary or mirror can reach it) but the primary and mirror can communicate with each other.
Will there be any impact on the performance of the primary, or does it continue to service requests as normal?
From what I've read, so long as there is a quorum, which there is in this scenario, then the primary will simply carry on as normal and there will be no impact on clients.

Yes.
The only thing losing the witness does is remove the automatic failover ability.

Thanks for confirming.

Also bear in mind, if the principal and mirror then become disconnected too, the principal will go offline.
