Configuration Manager doesn't show database engine services

  • I have an SQL Server 2014 with two database engine(two instance), and Windows Server 2012 R2 Service already Started with Local System as pic-1
but SQL Server Configuration Manager Only show sqlbrowser as pic-2
I try to use wbemtest testing wmi, It seems like to be able get NAMESPACE: root\Micorsoft\SqlServer\ComputerManagement12, but CLASS:SqlService only retrive "sqlbrowser" as pic-3
And I already use wmimgmt.msc to check root\Microsoft\SqlServer\ComputerManagement12 security setting.

What can I do with this problem? thanks a lot!

  • Hi

Try to login to windows server as administrator. Then go to services.msc. Are you able to see all your services there? if Yes. Perfect

    Now, install SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe.

    It should resolve your issue.

  • thanks your advice.
But when I installing SQLEXPR_x64_ENU, I just can add features to an existing installation, because it's already has SQL Server in my Server.
    so I can't re-install Management Tools - Basic.
It still only no other service in the Sql server Configuration Manager
